Your Bears Committee members are hoping that the season has started well for you all and everyone is enjoying themselves. Don't forget to have a look on our website www.sydneybears.com.au for each weekend's game scores.
Some matters that we need to tell you about:-
1. D LEAGUE & TRAINING: The Club does not have ice during school holidays and so there will be no training or D League at Macquarie Ice Rink for the next two Tuesdays (i.e. 15 & 22 April). Training and D League will start up again on Tuesday 29 April 2008 at the normal times.
2. ABUSE OF OFFICIALS ETC: The Committee wishes to remind all people affiliated with Sydney Bears to remember the Code of Conduct and to refrain from any behaviour which does not align with that Code and with the Bears' ethos. People can refer to the Ice Hockey NSW website www.nswicehockey.com.au if they wish to reread the Code of Conduct document and to brush up on the penalties imposed for the many infractions.
3. RAFFLE: By now you should have all received two books of raffle tickets. If you have not received the ticket books please see your team manager. We are hoping to achieve a financial buffer with our participation in this raffle so your contribution by selling these raffle tickets will help to shore up the financial viability of Sydney Bears into the future. All raffle butts and money need to be handed to either your team manager or brought along to training where a Committee member can check off the ticket butts and the money will be banked.
4. TRAINING UP/CASUAL TRAINING FEE: There are a few players who are wanting to train in a second session of training, for example some D Leaguers wanting to train with the Senior Team, some junior players who play-up into the Womens Team. We are very happy for these players to get as much training as possible but to cover all ice costs we need these players to pay a casual ice fee of $20 per session. This fee is to be paid to the Committee member present at training and you will receive a receipt for it.
5. JERSEYS: We are hopeful that our jerseys will be available for delivery at our first training session next term.
6. WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP TICKETS: Jo Sonter has some tickets to the World Championships for sale as follows:-
4 x Sat 8pm Oz v Iceland @ $10 each
4 x Sun 8pm Oz v China @ $10 each
Contact Jo on 4721 2344 or 0418 209 210 if you wish to purchase. This is a bargain as the tickets originally cost $22 each.
7. OFF-ICE TRAINING: This will be communicated to players via email from managers.
